Every CVBG I was in ALWAYS found and then sunk the sub. Here is how it would work:

1. Write awsome airplan including HHH (Hoover/Hummer/Helo) ops that go on all night.

2. Get P-3's to come out and patrol (when it fit into their busy crew rest / spend per diem / give each other NATOPS test cycle.

3. Lookout on flag bridge spots green flare 500 yds off port beam.

4. Converge all the lethal killers and sink sub.

Easy Peasy.
